On the evening of November 16, tennis champion Serena Williams tied the knot with Reddit founder Alexis Ohanian, in the presence of their closest family and friends.
The ceremony took place at the Contemporary Arts Center in New Orleans.
Guests included, of course, sister Venus Williams, La La Anthony, Kelly Rowland, Ciara, Beyonce Knowles-Carter, Tina and Richard Lawson, Kim Kardashian, Eva Longoria and Selita Ebanks. One very special guest, Vogue editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour, is rumored to be the recipient of exclusive images of the lavish ceremony.
According to The Daily Mail, the wedding theme was inspired by Disney's Beauty and the Beast, with tennis-themed trophies given as wedding favors and a traditional, big brass band to capture the spirit of New Orleans and its vibrant culture.
Not skimping on the lavishness of the event, there was also a performance from New Edition and other live music performances. Guests were delighted with a cocktail reception, a custom-built carousel and exquisite pastries from local District Donuts.
The newlywed couple had been spotted in New Orleans a few weeks prior, as they were planning for the big day. Engaged in December 2016, the couple dated for over a year before going public and welcoming their first child, Alexis Ohanian Jr., this past September.
Ohanian told Vanity Fair “I felt like a door had been opened to a person who made me want to be my best self," regarding his love for Williams; the two met in Paris. "I find myself just wanting to be better by simply being around her because of the standard she holds.”
Ohanian recently posted several photos from the special day on his Instagram.
