What was supposed to be a time of celebration turned into a time of mourning when a woman was fatally shot outside of a Clayton County, Georgia, graduation ceremony. However, thanks to former NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal, the young woman's family will not be forced to come out of pocket for her funeral.

According to WSB-TV,  a fight broke out on May 18 in a parking lot of Mt. Zion High School as the ceremony ended at the Clayton County Performing Arts Center across the street. The fight quickly escalated with two women getting caught in the crossfire. Both women suffered gunshots with one being fatal.

O'Neal, who currently serves as a Clayton County Sheriff's deputy, reached out to Clayton County Sheriff Victor Hill to see if the victim's family needed help and decided to foot the entire bill.

“The length of his heart far exceeds his height,” Hill said about O’Neal in a news release Thursday, May 24. “We never ask him for anything, but when he sees a need, he is Johnny on the spot!”

Since the tragic shooting, police report that two arrests have been made.

This isn't the first time Shaq has done a good deed amid tragedy. In 2017, he paid for the funeral of 13-year-old Malachi Hemphill when he accidentally shot and killed himself while showing off a gun on Instagram Live.

Shoutout to Shaq for being a big man with an even bigger heart.
