Five years after competing on Celebrity Family Feud, Sherri Shepherd is reliving her unforgettable experience during an appearance on The Game Show Show, ABC’s four-part series celebrating some of the most memorable moments in game show history.
In case you need a quick refresher, the 56-year-old multihyphenate botched every question host Steve Harvey asked her during the hilarious episode. At one point, Harvey asked the show’s contestants to “name something a lady cop might do to her husband in the bedroom.” Shepherd’s reply? “Cut his penis off,” she exclaimed, leaving Harvey nearly speechless.
“Sherri, listen to me. This is a game show, this isn’t therapy,” Harvey joked. During the premiere episode of ABC’s The Game Show Show, which debuts on May 10, Shepherd jokingly dug into her bag of excuses when attempting to explain why she struggled to answer anything correctly on the show. “Let me tell you something about that Family Feud,” Shepherd said. “I don’t know who they [asked]. They were like, ‘We asked 100 people the question,’ and we would always get it wrong. And I said, ‘Steve, where you going? Calabasas? You ain’t asking nobody in the ‘hood. We giving you good answers.'”
She added that Harvey told her if she lost, she would be considered “the laughingstock of all the comics” and that she was “one of the three worst players in the history of the show.
Despite Shepherd’s interesting responses, her team still managed to win $25,000 for the Summit View School in Los Angeles, according to People. As its name suggests, The Game Show Show reflects on the past 80 years of game history. Drew Carey, Vanna White, Bob Eubanks, Howie Mandel and Wayne Brady will also appear in the series.
