One man's decision to throw salt on pot roast dinners wasn't received well by fans of the dish who came to defend the household staple on Twitter.

"Imagine you come home on a Monday night from work or the gym and your lady made a pot roast for dinner smh I work with computers, not at the Ford factory smh," the original tweet from @Joe_Espy reads.

It didn't take long before people quickly attempted to correct the Twitter user and those who shared his belief.

"Pot roast is top 5 black southern comfort food. But y’all eat McDonald’s And wings everyday so it’s no surprise," one Twitter user said.

"Imagine you come home on a Monday night & you’re lucky enough to have a person waiting for you who made you a full meal. You say thank you, not drag them on Twitter for making a pot roast," one person commented back at the first tweet. "Joe is going to be making his own dinner tonight."

Though, none of the arguments pushed Joe to change his stance, he fired off another tweet, showing he wasn't backing down from the heat.

"I pay all the bills, buy you whatever stuff you not so subtly hint at wanting and I gotta come home to pot roast?" he said

One positive to come from the teachable moment was the flood of pot roast cooking videos that had people salivating on the timeline.
