At the start of the video recorded by Hamblin’s videographer, the reporter is seen standing in a neighborhood while looking towards the camera in order to prepare for her live hit. At some point during the recording, men start hitting on Hamblin and are heard saying things like “You look nice,” “You’re beautiful as hell,” and “Goddamn”.

One guy asked the reporter, “But why you over there on camera though?” to which Hamblin instructed him to tune into channels 1 and 9 if he wanted to learn more about the story she was covering. 

The guy then said “see that’s why I can’t be left alone with a Black woman, for real mulatto s**t, I can’t stand these f**king white girls.”

An uncomfortable Hamblin spoke over the man and said “we are done here." But the man proceeded to say, “You are sexy as f**k” right before the recording's conclusion. 

After sharing the video, the reporter addressed critics who didn’t think the recording captured harassment. 

"'Oh, men these days just can’t give compliments.’ No. The first man’s ‘you look nice’ as he continued to walk away is fine. It’s the 2nd man who took this to another disgusting level it didn’t need to be,” Hamblin wrote. 

The reporter went on to say that the way in which men addressed her is “uncomfortable” and “gross." She also deemed it unnecessary for the man to put down another race of women in order to pay her a compliment.

“Being a Black woman in this industry has its own headaches, but talking down on one group of women to 'praise' another group is NEVER okay. It just shows you have a disgusting fetish based on stereotypes, which is just as racist,” Hamblin added.

Many of Hamblin’s followers commented on her post in a show of solidarity. One Twitter user said that the reporter handled the situation well.

After posting the video to social media, Hamblin said she would log off in order to enjoy the rest of her Friday.
