Comedian and TV host Steve Harvey had a good time discussing his daughter's relationship on Monday's episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show

Ellen DeGeneres told Harvey that Michael B. Jordan contacted her for help in surprising Lori Harvey with a horse ride for her birthday.

The two announced their relationship in January and have made waves with a number of glamorous photoshoots.

"So your youngest daughter is dating Michael B. Jordan. I actually knew that was happening a while ago because Michael B. Jordan texted me and asked Portia [de Rossi] and I to help him surprise her for her birthday to get horses for them to go riding. I thought, 'Isn't he just the greatest?'" said DeGeneres.

Steve responded that he jokingly wanted to dislike Jordan but couldn't find anything to dislike.

“I have tried not to like him. I have tried to find something wrong with him that I could dig in and go… ‘cause I done got rid of all of them. All of them. Some of them snuck in the back door on me and lasted a lot longer than I wanted it to. But this guy, is such a good guy. He is one of the nicest guys. I’ve met his father. I’ve sat up with him, we’ve talked for hours. I just can’t find nothing wrong with him,” Steve said.

Steve later told DeGeneres that he hopes the relationship between his daughter and the 34-year-old lasts because he "is a really, really good guy" and added that he liked him because "I can't whoop him."

"Most guys I say I can jump on 'em and take 'em out, but he just looks like a real ass-whooping in the making. So I'm just hoping they make it, you know," he said.

Steve has previously spoken about his 24-year-old daughter's relationship, joking that the luxurious holiday gifts Jordan was giving her would eventually become too difficult to top during an interview with Jimmy Kimmel.

"Yeah, well good luck homie 'cause valentine's come every year. So I don't know if you know how this works or not, but I don't know how you gonna top that, but good look partner," Steve said after Kimmel asked him about the much-discussed date at an aquarium.

Lori was adopted by Steve after he married her mother, Marjorie Bridges, in 2007, according to News9.
