DJ D-Nice threw a massively unifying hours-long party on Saturday night, and he's not the only DJ who has been keeping the party going on the gram amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Like many of us, the celebrity DJ’s bag was affected by the COVID-19 outbreak, and he’s stuck in the house. On Wednesday, he whipped out his turntables and hosted Homeschoolin’: Social Distancing Dance Party, an online affair, via Instagram Live.

“Sitting at home during this quarantine, I started to feel empty,” he told The New York Times. “There is nothing like playing the music and feeling the music.”

It went on for nine hours, and a slew of famous faces joined in on the fun. During those epic hours, D-Nice attracted an eclectic mix of celebrities, including Erykah Badu, Bernie Sanders and Oprah Winfrey. #ClubQuarantine even began trending on Twitter.

D-Nice shouted out his famous friends in an Instagram post the following day.

“I can’t believe that I started the Home School social distancing dance party just four days ago and it’s become a place for us to virtually dance together and stay connected,” he wrote on Instagram. “From my kitchen, I’m able to send positive vibrations to each of you. Thank you for rocking with me. Thank you to all of the artists that popped in to show love.”

Some celebrities, like John Legend and Bun B, used the split-screen feature during the set, a nice touch for us normal folks who want a chance to party with our faves. D-Nice popped up again on Saturday and Sunday and kept the jams flowing.

The party eventually made its way to Twitter where even Oprah, Kamala Harris and Ava DuVernay had to show love following Saturday's jam session.

Music is D-Nice’s life. When he was 16, he joined Boogie Down Productions with hip-hop legends KRS-One and DJ Scott La Rock. He produced the 1989 hit “Self-Destruction,” an anti-gun violence collaboration featuring several prominent rappers including MC Lyte, Heavy D and Public Enemy, per Vibe.

He has played at functions for the likes of Dave Chapelle and Barack Obama. Speaking of the Obamas, our Forever First Lady made an appearance while there were about 57K people on the virtual dance floor. D-Nice was understandably hype.

DJ D-Nice’s Sunday quarantine club reached over 145,000 people.

The esteemed DJ was glad he was able to unite people using his craft.

“Musically we found a way to use tech to unite people, that’s a beautiful thing,” he told The Times.

Hopefully, he keeps Homeschoolin’ going after Rona leaves town. We could get used to partying with the A-listers.
