Issa Rae has been cast as the lead in an upcoming film from multi-hyphenate Paul Feig (producer-director of Bridesmaids, Ghostbusters and the recent A Simple Favor), which will be directed by Stella Meghie.

Here’s the description per THR, who reported the news first: The film centers on an American woman (Rae) who moves to London, where she’s drawn into a world of wealth and high society and falls in love in a very unexpected way.

Amy Anobi, who worked with Rae on Insecure, is scripting.

Meghie is coming off of premiering The Weekend at the Toronto International Film Festival this year and is currently working on a family drama, The Photograph, at Universal with Will Packer.

Rae, the Golden Globe-nominated Insecure star, has recently made her inroads on the big screen, appearing in this month’s The Hate U Give, and she has wrapped production on Little with Marsai Martin.
