The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss and husband Todd Tucker are officially new parents to a baby girl.

Conceived via a surrogate and weighing 8 lbs.1 oz., the couple welcomed their daughter, Blaze Tucker, on Friday, November 22, at 6:54 p.m.

A beautiful bundle of joy, Blaze is the latest addition to the blended Burruss-Tucker family, joining Burrus' 17-year-old daughter Riley, Tucker’s 22-year-old daughter Kaela, and the couple’s shared three-year-old son Ace.

Many Real Housewives of Atlanta (RHOA) fans will agree that Burress has remained consistently candid about her reproductive health challenges, even allowing Bravo cameras to follow her throughout her high-risk pregnancy with son Ace. Spurned by concern over her history of fibroids and general reproductive health, Burress and Tucker's earliest considerations of surrogacy were documented during season 11 of RHOA.

After officially committing to the process, the entrepreneur and former member of Xscape later opened up about her experiences with surrogacy on a February 18 episode of Busy Tonight.

“I had to go through the IVF process to get my son, and I have been having some issues or whatever,” the expectant mother reportedly said, according to ET. “And this is something we were discussing, so I felt like, you know what, why hold back? I might as well talk about it. I think it’s important to share.”

Now in its twelfth season, Burress elaborates on her surrogacy journey in the latest episodes of RHOA.

“To allow somebody to carry my child inside of them? It was a tough decision to make,” Burress said during the season 12 premiere, which debuted November 30, 2019. “I don’t get to be excited about the first kick. I don’t get to be excited about, ‘Oh, now my baby bump is showing.’”

In a confessional, Burress also informs viewers that although her surrogate was originally pregnant with twins, one of the embryos, unfortunately, did not make it.

“I was sad at first, but then I just had to be grateful that the one made it,” the singer-songwriter said as she held back tears.

Never one to dwell on negativity for too long, during the same confessional segment, Burress went on to define her overall surrogacy experience as "joyous, yet interesting." Now that baby Blaze has finally arrived healthy and happy, she can add "worthwhile" to that previous characterization.
