Mia Love, the first Black woman to represent the Republican Party in Congress, has lost her re-election campaign by fewer than 700 votes.

The poll results were finalized on Tuesday. Democrat Ben McAdams defeated Love by 694 votes, according to The Salt Lake Tribune.

McAdams won 50.14 percent of the vote; Love got 49.86 percent. Love, who currently represents the state's 4th Congressional District, missed an opportunity to demand a recount by 20 votes, The Associated Press reports. The results will probably be certified next Monday.

Election officials confirmed all votes had been counted except for mail-in ballots with missing signatures and signatures that did not match an existing one on file. Those voters were given until Monday at 5 p.m. to report to the secretary of state officials to fix the ballot issues with a signed affidavit.

McAdams, who is the current mayor of Salt Lake City, declared victory on Monday.

“This race was about connecting with Utah,” he said. “This race was about who was best positioned to serve Utah and working to not get it caught up in a national, partisan election.”

Love has not conceded but released a statement saying she would call McAdams to congratulate him. She is currently traveling for Thanksgiving and will not talk about the election until next Monday.

“Regardless of how you voted, I want to express my sincere appreciation to you for engaging in the process,” Love said. “It is one of many reasons this is the greatest country on Earth.”

Love, who is Haitian-American, has been a controversial figure since her foray into politics due to her political affiliation. Two weeks ago, Donald Trump made fun of her and claimed she would lose her attempt at a third term. Trump made a comment during a presser where he slammed Republicans who refused to embrace him and his administration.

“Mia Love gave me no love, and she lost,” Trump said. “Too bad. Sorry about that, Mia."
