Two people were killed in a Central Michigan University shooting, WILX reports.

Mount Pleasant police are on the hunt for James Eric Davis, Jr., who opened fired in a campus hall on Friday morning, in what is described as a “family-type domestic issue," per FOX News. The victims were Davis' parents, according to the Detroit Free Press. Davis, 19, is a black sophomore student at the college.

University police have also confirmed Davis was admitted to the hospital Thursday night, for a possible drug overdose. He was released Friday morning.

The school is currently under lockdown.

"It was really scary. I just kept thinking things like that don't happen here," CMU Junior Alyssa Jawor told WILX in regards to the automatic call students received after the shooting occurred.

Michigan Governor Rick Snyder confirmed he was in "constant contact" with Michigan State Police.
