Rapper Kendrick Lamar appears in this new commercial from Reebok, as a part of the shoe brand’s classic leather campaign. This is a product of a relationship with Lamar and Reebok, which has been going on for nearly two years.

Lamar appears in an mansion all alone, delivering lines on success, expectations and failure.

“From the very heart of me, belief becomes action and no distractions will take my eyes off the prize. Greatness is my goal, but there is failure on the way. Full of insecurity, self-hate, and doubt. But what I can’t control can’t confine me. And what I can’t do can’t stop me. This is how I express myself, not how I follow others expectations but how I stay true.”

The commercial was directed by Colin Tilley, who often collaborates with Lamar including the music video for his Grammy award winning song, “Alright.”
