Original: New York City Police are asking the public for information regarding the disappearance of gaming YouTuber Desmond Amofah.

According to Pix 11, the internet personality was last heard from on June 19. He reportedly made a phone call around 8 p.m. to an unknown person. The 29-year-old, who goes by Etika on YouTube and many of his social media accounts, garnered hundreds of thousands of fans for his witty gaming commentary. However, the limelight has not always been kind.

His sudden disappearance came after he released a video about mental health. In the 8-minute video, Amofah spoke about the current state of his mental health. He also apologized to family members about not living up to expectations and shutting people out of his life.

“I’m sorry I betrayed your trust, I’m sorry I pushed you all away,” Amofah said in the video.

Since recent events, the video has been removed from YouTube during the ongoing investigation.

Inside Edition reports the gamer's belongings were discovered by authorities on the Manhattan Bridge the same day he went missing. An assortment of items including his cell phone, driver’s license, debit card, metro card and a wallet were found. There was also a Nintendo Switch, laptop bag and clothing discovered by investigators.

Police found a body floating in the East River on June 24 but have yet to confirm the identity of the remains.

Within the past few months, Amofah dealt with mental health issues publicly. Newsweek reports he was hospitalized for tweeting suicidal messages in April.

Ex-girlfriend Christine Cardona told InsideEdition.com she consoled him at the time of the mental health episode. The 26-year-old admitted it's been hard being there for her former lover.

"He's never admitted he has a problem," Cardona said. "He's always seemed to deny the existence of mental health disorders. Our relationship, it wasn't easy."

The first known public outburst was reported in October. The gamer wrote he was ready to die on a subreddit dedicated to his work as a streamer.
