Lizzo recently responded to critics who accused her of encouraging “diet culture.”

The 32-year-old Detroit native clapped back at criticism after sharing a TikTok video of her weight loss after a juice cleansing detox. The avid champion of body positivity chronicled her 10-day progress via the social media platform.

In the video, the Grammy-winning singer addressed cynics by telling plus-size women to do whatever they want. She also admitted to being scared to share the detox because of what the public might say about it to her.

“I’m a big girl who did a smoothie detox, and I wanted to share it with you guys. And every big girl should do whatever the f*** they want with their bodies,” she said in the video.

She also expressed how she felt people viewed curvier women when they make certain diet and health choices.

“I feel like as a big girl, people expect if you are doing something for health, you’re doing it for a dramatic weight loss, and that is not the case,” she said in the video.
