Black Republicans are having a moment in this year's elections. Trump-endorsed John James picked up the GOP nomination for Michigan's open Senate seat, and now another black Republican has turned in a big win in New Hampshire.

Eddie Edwards beat three other candidates to seize the GOP nomination for New Hampshire's 1st Congressional District with 47 percent of the vote, reports WMUR. If elected, Edwards would be New Hampshire’s first black congressman.

Edwards thanked his supporters on Twitter:

Unlike James, Edwards didn't get a presidential co-sign in his primary battle but did receive the endorsement of Trump's personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani.

The lawyer and former New York City mayor called Edwards a “strong conservative who believes in low taxes and is a supporter of the ‘America First’ agenda of President Trump.”

The platform Edwards has on his website seems to validate Giuliani’s assessment.

Edwards, a former police chief and Navy veteran, supports Donald Trump’s immigration policies, including the border wall.

“Our borders are in crisis as career politicians in both parties have failed to do their jobs for decades," according to Edwards' site. "We must build a wall on our southern border and use new technologies to protect our nation wherever a physical barrier would not be prudent."

Edwards is also “proudly pro-life,” and wants to repeal and replace Obamacare.

Edwards will run against Democratic nominee Chris Pappas.
