In an exclusive clip shared by Billboard, crooner John Legend revealed his first musical credit came on Lauryn Hill's legendary hit record "Everything Is Everything."

The hit singer revealed the fun fact while speaking with the other judges on The Voice, including Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, Carson Daly and an astounded Kelly Clarkson.

"That was my first credit. This girl used to sing with me at my church choir that I directed while I was in college and she was like, 'Do you wanna go hang out with me in the studio with Lauryn Hill, she's working on her solo album,'" he told the three stars, who were astonished to hear the story.

Hill released the song as part of her hit album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, and the track went gold after it hit the charts.

"So I go in the studio and they're making what eventually became 'Everything Is Everything' and in a little break, I went and played her two songs. A Stevie Wonder song and an original song of mine on the piano, and she was like 'Why don't you play on the song I'm working on and that was my first credit," he said.

"I got to go back to my senior year of school and be like, 'I'm on Lauryn Hill's album,'" he added with a dance.

Both Clarkson and Stefani were wowed by the reveal, which was prompted by Daly joking that Legend often drops astounding facts about himself in passing.

"John says the fewest amount of words like Yoda," Daly said.
