The first set images from Falcon and The Winter Soldier have been released, along with a pleasant surprise–Adepero Oduye!

According to Comicbook.com, Oduye has been seen on set, particularly in scenes with Anthony Mackie, who plays Sam Wilson, aka Falcon, who was recently named the new Captain America in Avengers: Endgame.

While it’s fascinating to see Oduye on set, it is unknown who she will play. Comicbook.com offered up two theories; either she’s playing Sam’s sister Sarah or Sam’s ex-girlfriend Leila Taylor, a reporter who hates Captain America (presumably the Steve Rogers version of the character).

Regardless of the character Oduye is playing, her presence in the series should help flesh out Mackie’s character and give more dimension to Falcon, whom we’ve only seen in a friendship and support capacity for Steve. Hopefully, we’ll learn more about Oduye’s character before the series airs on Disney+ next fall.
