Cole once sat down with her mother to share an emotional conversation about death and relationships on Keyshia Cole: My New Life.

In 2017, the "Trust and Believe" singer vented about her frail relationship with her mother.

Expressing her frustration on Twitter, the artist said her mother has “chosen drugs over her own daughter."

"I told my mother the other day I was afraid to lose her because she keeps going back to the streets," the singer tweeted. "You know what she said? In return? She said, 'YOU'LL be aight.'"

A year earlier, Keyshia said she went broke while helping her mother battle addiction."Even went broke once putting all my money and house up to pay for mom's rehab," the 39-year-old said, according to Bossip. "Nothing has worked on my end. But my aunt has not given up!!!! No one knows my mother like u do!!"

The artist hasn't yet commented on her mother's passing.
