There have been many stories about gentrification in the headlines recently, but this story may take home the prize for most ridiculous. A white Harlem transplant decides to stop noise pollution in her new neighborhood by starting a fight with a local Mr. Softee Ice Cream man.

The woman, only identified as Mackenzie, bought an apartment near Central Park earlier this year, but one thing seemed to bother her. The truck came into the neighborhood around 7:45 to 9 p.m. bringing the melody along with it. "This is generally a really quiet, serene block," she wrote in an email to Gothamist. However, "The arrival of an ice cream truck in May has totally [ruined] this quiet."

Mackenzie approached the driver once and asked him "'Would you mind turning off the music?' He looked at me and he was like, 'What are you talking about?'" Then, he reportedly told the woman to "F**k off."

In the past, she has reported the driver to police and three officers told her they did not have time to enforce a noise code violation that would fine the driver $350-$3,000 for parking illegally. According to Gothamist, a 311 request came back informing Mackenzie that the police will not take action on this matter.

"Your Service Request was closed."

The Police Department responded to the complaint and determined that police action was not necessary.

She also allegedly called the mayor's office because of the noise, per Fusion.

Residents, on the other hand, do not see the ice cream truck's jingle as much of an issue.

“They moved to Harlem, and that’s what the f**k happens in Harlem,” Carolyn Graham told the news site. “They need to go somewhere else if they don’t like it … My kids bought ice cream from that truck…I'm not going to mess with this man's livelihood."
