XXXTentacion was shot in Miami on Monday, TMZ reports. Eyewitnesses say he appeared lifeless with no pulse.

The controversial rapper was leaving a South Florida motorcycle dealership when a gunman approached his vehicle and shot him.

According to Variety, XXXTentacion’s album ? debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart in March.

The 20-year-old rapper recently made headlines when Spotify initiated — then reversed — a hate content policy that would have greatly reduced his streaming numbers. His music catalog fell under the policy due to his domestic abuse allegations.

XXXTentacion also faced over a dozen felony charges, including witness tampering. A judge recently ruled the rapper could remain free on house arrest, with exception made to accommodate for his touring schedule.
