In either case, the surprise of it all will add to the Halloween excitement for both your loved ones and yourself.

While it isn’t your traditional way of dressing up for Halloween or announcing a pregnancy, this will get the job done. Shirts with messages have long been a part of our fashion as people, and they can become a keepsake after your delivery and for years to come. Printing a bump on your bump can be a direct way of getting the message across. However, the time it takes for a person to read the message on your shirt can provide a bit of suspense. Anything from “we’re expecting” to the due date will suffice.

Dress Up As a Pregnancy Reference

Dressing up your pregnancy announcement with actual Halloween costumes would be a festive and fun step toward getting into the spooky spirit. You could dress up as “bun in the oven,” or a character or celebrity who is known for a pregnant scene or cultural moment. Think Beyonce or Rihanna. We love a costume that’s comfy while expressing an idea. Sometimes, it’s the latter on its own, but being a skeleton for Halloween could be as simple as wearing a black, two-piece set and face paint. Sure, you could paint, draw or tape bones onto your set if that level of creativity speaks to you. Ultimately, you would just need a small board on which you could draw or tape a skeleton rib cage encompassing a baby. While the clothing of the costume can be achieved, the details of it all provide space to amp it up. Cute and creepy.

Family photo prints can be a welcomed gift to loved ones, particularly when they’re themed or linked to a big announcement. If you’re really into Halloween and this is a yearly occasion for you, perhaps include a clue about your pregnancy this time around. If this is the first year that you’ll be doing a Halloween photoshoot, make it as grand or straightforward as you prefer. Whether you’ve already clued your folks in or have left them temporarily in the dark, a mysterious photo and matching caption could help in getting the message across.
