Stormzy has quickly shot his way up the charts, becoming one of the world's best-known grime artists. He flexed that power on Monday when he managed to bring out 350,000 young people to register to vote ahead of the British election on December 12.

On Twitter and Instagram, the superstar rapper encouraged the public to turn out for the election and vote for Labour Party candidate Jeremy Corbyn.

"It is very very very important that every single person who reads this goes and registers to vote. The deadline is 23:59 tomorrow, the link is in my bio. Do not just scroll past, don’t sit there and think 'my one little vote ain’t gonna do anything'—your vote is CRUCIAL. Your 'one little vote' can quite literally tip the scale for what will be the most important election of our generation," he wrote on Instagram and then shared on Twitter.

"Your 'one little vote' means everything, there were millions of people who thought their 'one little vote' didn’t mean s**t and now Trump is the president of America and we are leaving the EU. So your vote really does count," he added.

The U.K. government released data showing that right after Stormzy's post, there was a massive spike in voter registration.

According to statistics from the Gov.uk website, 366,000 people registered to vote on Monday, with nearly half of the voters under 25 years old.

This paled in comparison to the day before which only saw about 100,000 people register.

In the rest of his post, Stormzy said he was supporting Corbyn because "he is the first man in a position of power who is committed to giving the power back to the people and helping those who need a helping hand from the government the most."

He went on to bash Boris Johnson, the current prime minister and Conservative candidate, who is heavily favored to win the election.

Stormzy's famous saying "F**k the government and f**k Boris" has become a rallying cry for people who are viciously opposed to Johnson's plan to remove the U.K. out of the European Union.

"I think Boris Johnson is a sinister man with a long record of lying and policies that have absolutely no regard for the people that our government should be committed to helping and empowering," he wrote.

Despite his political preference, he said he wanted voters on both sides to register so the country has a clear understanding of where it stands.

Corbyn thanked Stormzy in a tweet after receiving news about the voter registration drive.

Stormzy has since started his Grime4Corbyn movement ahead of the election.

"I think it’s important that we use our vote to make sure that the person who runs our country for the next 4 years is someone committed to doing what is right," Stormzy said.
