Tennis star Sloane Stephens, 28, jumped the broom with soccer player Jozy Altidore, 32, on Saturday at the St. Regis Bal Harbour in Miami Beach, Florida, People reports.

Stephens' wedding dress was a custom embellished Galia Lahav couture gown accented with a Maria Elena tiara. She was adorned with diamonds by Peter Marco and her hair was styled in an updo by Schacle Powell, while her makeup was done by Tia Codrington.

The planning of the wedding came with some unexpected challenges though. The newly married couple both had to deal with "all of the variables out of our control," Stephens told People.

"I empathize with all the COVID couples out there who have had to make the tough calls and be flexible with the ever-changing pandemic. We've all had to be super flexible, and I appreciate how accommodating our loved ones have been in making sure we have as safe and special a day as possible," she said.

But Altidore said he wouldn't trade the experience for anything, despite the hurdles of arranging their nuptials.

"I've loved reflecting on all of the moments that culminated to this day and how we've arrived at this life-changing moment. It's been so nostalgic to go down memory lane and revisit all the moments that brought us to this time in our lives. It's made me fall in love with Sloane all over again," he told People.

Altidore said seeing his wife walk down the aisle is "one of those moments that I know will live in my mind forever…"

The soccer star added that he was looking forward to "being with my best friend every day." He continued to gush about his wife, saying that he admired her "big heart" and "empathy for everyone."

Altidore isn't the only one swooning. Stephens said she admires Altidore's interaction with his son from a previous relationship.

"He loves his son so much and gives so selflessly. Jozy and I have known each other since we were kids, but watching him grow as a father showed me what it would be like to spend forever with him," she said.

Stephens won the 2017 U.S. Open and advanced to the finals in the 2018 French Open. She was placed as a semifinalist at the 2013 Australian Open and was a quarterfinalist for Wimbledon 2013.

Altidore has played for the Toronto FC of Major League Soccer since 2015, ESPN reports.
