The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested four young girls, who allegedly stabbed a 15-year-old girl to death at a Walmart in Lake Charles, Louisiana, on Saturday, according to a Facebook post by the department.

One of the four girls took a video of the deadly incident that went viral. All four girls are between the ages of 12 and 14.

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office said they were called to the Walmart around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday and helped transport the 15-year-old to a local hospital where she later died, according to the Facebook post.

While juveniles are generally not named, in an effort to find one of the girls they released her name on Facebook and a grainy photo of her.

They eventually arrested the four girls and found that one was 14 years old, two were 13 years old and one was 12 years old. All are being held in the Juvenile Detention Center and police said the 13-year-old has been charged with second-degree murder while the other three have been charged with principal to second-degree murder.

Sheriff Tony Mancuso was despondent during a press conference on Sunday night, begging parents to take more of a role in knowing where their kids are at all hours. He said repeatedly that juvenile crime is on the rise and that there is little police can do.

"This is the third homicide in six months that we've had that involved juveniles that range from 11 to 16 years old. They come from all backgrounds, all races. This is just a problem that we're having with kids having access to weapons and in some cases stealing weapons," he said.

"In last night's case, they stole knives from the actual store where they were at. It's really heartbreaking when we have to come in and pick up the pieces because so many families are damaged after this. It's a cycle we have to stop. This is not something we can police our way out of. I just don't feel like this is a police matter. This is a parenting issue," he added.
