The horrific Bay Area killing of 18-year-old Nia Wilson shook the entire nation. Nia's older sister, Letifah Wilson, recently spoke with ABC News reporters in detail regarding the MacArthur BART Station incident which left her injured and her younger sister dead at the scene.

"I'm her protector, and I feel like I didn't protect her," Letifah said.

The suspect, John Lee Cowell, was arrested July 23 following a tip to police. Letifah was on her way home with Nia and another sister when they were attacked at the train station.

"All of a sudden we transfer just to get blindsided by a maniac, for what, I don't know," she said.

Letifah also spoke about how she comforted her little sister following the unprovoked stabbing.

"She's just yelling my name, 'Tifah, Tifah, Tifah,' and I said, 'I got you, baby, I got you,'" Letifah recalled.

Letifah was stabbed after Nia, but she says she was less focused on her wounds and more focused on caring for Nia.

"We're gonna get through this, I got you; you're my baby sister," Letifah said she told her sister.

Nia's mother, Alicia Wilson, also spoke out and had some words for the suspect.

"F**k John, I don't care, I'm mad. He took my baby," Alicia said.

Many supporters in the Bay Area gathered for a vigil to honor and celebrate the life of Wilson on Monday evening.

"The most sweetest person on the earth, she didn't do nothing to nobody. I didn't do nothing to nobody, and for this to happen is just outright crazy," Letifah said.
