Isaiah Washington has been busy lately, both on the big and small screen – from his acclaimed performance in Blue Caprice, John Sayles’ drama/thriller, Go For Sisters, to joining the cast of The CW post-apocalyptic series, The 100.

He can currently be seen in Patrik-Ian Polk’s drama Blackbird, co-starring with Mo’Nique, as it travels the film festival circuit, and he will return to reprise his original role as surgeon Dr. Preston Burke on ABC’s Shonda Rhimes medical drama Grey’s Anatomy, 7 years after he was dropped from the show, after on-set controversies involving his Grey’s co-stars T.R. Knight and Patrick Dempsey.

It’s not a permanent return, however. Washinton will be guest-starring as his former character in an episode of the drama series scheduled to air in May. His return comes as the show preps to say goodbye to Sandra Oh’s character, Cristina, who was engaged to marry Washington’s Burke, prior to his exit.

Other upcoming projects include Choice Skinner’s drama We Are Family, Game Time Decision, Matthew Cherry’s follow-up to his feature film debut,

We can also now add a suspense thriller titled The Sin Seer, to his slate.

According to TheWrap, the Overflow Entertainment project, written and to be directed by Paul D. Hannah…

… follows a woman with the ability to see into people’s souls, read minds and detect lies. She uses these gifts to solve crimes and other mysteries, bringing closure where there was none. When her latest case opens doors to her own past and that of her new partner, even she can’t see what lies ahead.

Lisa Arrindell Anderson will star as the woman, and Washington has signed up to play her new partner.

Aririndell Anderson appeared most recently in Drop Dead Diva, and Meet the Browns, on the small screen, and in Madea’s Family Reunion on the big screen.

I should note that both Washington and Anderson played a couple in Spike Lee’s Clockers, 19 years ago. So consider this a reunion of sorts.

Michael Ironside and C. Thomas Howell round out the starring cast.

Production is scheduled to begin this month in Wilmington, North Carolina.
