I guess Lizzo's song "Truth Hurts" hit a sore spot for some fans of the Minnesota Vikings and their rival the Green Bay Packers.

The song's catchy lyrics caught the attention of many people, increasing the artist's fan base. But the lyrics for the Viking and Packers heightened the already tense feelings between them.

In the song, Lizzo brags about a "new man on the Minnesota Vikings," yet many fans in Wisconsin haven't even had the chance to hear the song in its entirety on the radio, according to ESPN.

Without hesitation, the music director for WIXX Green Bay, Otis Day, admitted to removing the lyrics from the song as if they were explicit.

Day is also the disc jockey for the station that happens to be the Packer's flagship station.

"You drop in the beat, take the words out, but you leave a little bit of the ending 'S' in there," he said, describing how he edited the song.

He said since the song dropped in 2017 and most recently gained traction in 2019, he has never played it in its entirety.

However, his actions forced him to give a representative for Lizzo's record company an explanation.

"She's like, 'What do you mean?' I'm like, 'Because this is Green Bay. We're not playing a Vikings song,'" Day said.

Just one state over, word got to Vikings' fans that the lyrics were clipped from the song.

"It's disgusting. It's pathetic. It really just goes to show how unamerican and immature they are," Zero, host of Y94 Playhouse, said.

"If you're a Vikings fan, the second you hear her reference Minnesota Vikings you get excited. If she said 'New man on the Green Bay Packers,' Y94 would be playing that song," Zero added.

Viking wide receiver Stefon Diggs acknowledged the city's hurt, saying "I think they're just jelly. I think they're a little jealous they don't have a song about a new man on the Green Bay Packers."

The notable rivalry between the two teams started back in 1961, with the two states juxtaposed next to each other creating natural competitiveness. Since the Vikings were instated as an expansion team, the two have pinged-ponged for the lead in the series and division. However, Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph said the Packers haven't beaten them in over "1,000 days."

According to Bleacher Report, the dynamic of the rivalry changed in 2009 when Brett Favre was let go from the Packers after a 16-year career. The star athlete later joined the Vikings.

Diggs said the rivalry between the two teams is mutual.

"It's a rivalry. We don't like them. They don't like us," he said.

And while it remains a mystery exactly who she may have been referring to, Diggs made it clear that he's already boo'd up.

"Someone asked me 'I wonder who she's talking about' and I was like, 'What are you talking about?'" he said. "Everyone is going to point their elbow at me. I'm already taken."
