Within the past four months, four Chicago girls and women have vanished. Some have turned up dead while others have yet to be found.

Since March, a pattern emerged of young girls and women disappearing within miles of one another in the Windy City. One of the earliest missing girls is 18-year-old Anna Stanislawczyk, who has been missing since March 16 according to CBS Chicago. Thirteen-year-old Yasminda Mitchell has also been missing since May 31 from the area of 100 W. 47th Street.

In the last few week, Shantieya Smith, 26, and Victoria Garrett, 15, have also gone missing.

Garrett’s whereabouts have been unknown since June 5. Smith went missing around May 25 and was discovered dead Thursday, June 7, in a garage in the North Lawndale neighborhood.

According to CBS Chicago, police found her in a car in the garage around 5:30 p.m. There is at least one suspect named in connection to the possible murder, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office states the autopsy was inconclusive and pending further investigation.

The Sun-Times reports the disappearances of Smith and 15-year-old Sadaria Davis may have been connected. On April 25, Davis vanished after leaving her East Garfield Park neighborhood. There is no informationon her whereabouts in the nearly three months she has been missing.

CPD hasn’t linked these cases together but there’s some shit going on. Latonya Moore, Shantieya’s mother, says CPD isn’t doing anything for them or their community.
