A Georgia mother tried to uplift her son with song after saying he's been bullied at school for having darker skin.

Briana Hampton shared a video on Instagram of her singing to her child. "Why I Love You" by Major played in the background as she sang the lyrics to her crying son.

The wife and mother of four penned a heartwarming caption, explaining what her child was experiencing and how she found the "perfect song" to express how much she loved him, despite what he's been dealing with at school:

My son has been bullied at school and kids have been teasing him about his Darkskin. Me and my husband always say Son your handsome and those kids are mad their not you. “Mommy I don’t see color. I just see people,” Hampton shared in another post where she described the child's response to the colorism she says he's undergone.

She wrote she will remind her "young king" every day that he is handsome.

My Young King ???????? is handsome and I’m gonna tell him that everyday until he’s conceited with his skin color!!! It’s crazy because when I asked him about the racial people comments at school he said “ Mommy I don’t see color I just see people”. That truly melted my heart ❤️

Hampton's story comes on the heels of the suicide of a 9-year-old Alabama girl whose mother said she took her life because of racist bullying by her white peers.

Hampton published one last post where she encouraged people to embrace each other's differences and stop spreading hate.
