Merle Dandridge has joined Murphy Brown, Shadow and Act has confirmed.

She’ll recur in the first season of the comedy’s revival on CBS.

Dandridge will play the team’s “arrogant CRC network boss, Diana Macomber.” She’s a “no-nonsense, tough-as-nails career woman who is proud to have worked her way up to where she is today.”

“I am excited to have Merle Dandridge join us. She plays Diana brilliantly, and her comic timing is fantastic,” said showrunner/executive producer Diane English.

Dandridge has starred as Pastor Grace Greenleaf on OWN’s Greenleaf since 2016.

The Murphy Brown revival continues the original series about the eponymous broadcast news legend and her biting take on current events, now in a world of 24-hour cable, social media, “fake news” and a vastly different political climate.
