Jerrod Carmichael will make his directorial debut with On the Count of Three. Tiffany Haddish, J.B. Smoove and Lavell Crawford are also set to star with Carmichael, along with Christopher Abbott and Henry Winkler. Filming has already begun in Ottowa, Canada.

Carmichael will not only star and direct, but he will also act as one of the producers along with Jimmy Price, Werner Entertainment’s Tom Werner and Jake Densen as well as Valparaiso’s Adam Paulsen and David Carrico. Christopher Storer will serve as executive producer.

According to Deadline, the details of the film, written by Ramy co-creators Ari Katcher and Ryan Welch, are being played close to the vest, but what has been reported is that it’s a “darkly comedic thriller.” With the cast that’s lined up, the expectations for humor are extremely high. It’ll be interesting to see how this film comes together.
