The younger sister of Malika Andrews is being hired as ESPN's newest reporter for the NBA, the New York Post reports.

Kendra Andrews, 24, currently covers the Golden State Warriors as the host of NBC Sports Bay Area and will continue reporting on the team when she officially joins ESPN, according to The Spun.

As a native of San Francisco, Kendra said she always wanted to become a sports reporter growing up, though that was not her sister Malika's initial aspiration.

Malika, Kendra's older sister, started off at ESPN as a writer and quickly transitioned to on-air work and was given the coveted assignment of being ESPN's NBA "bubble" reporter when the league held its 2019-2020 season at Disney in Orlando during the height of the pandemic.

Last year, ESPN forced host Rachel Nichols to sit out from covering the NBA Finals when her comments caught on secret recording, where she complained about ESPN's dismal record on diversity, were made public. The fallout resulted in Malika being selected as Nichols' replacement during the NBA Finals.

Nichols was eventually fired from ESPN and her show The Jump was discontinued. Malika now hosts a new show called NBA Today.
