As we approach Election Day, more of hip-hop's biggest names are revealing themselves to be ardent fans of President Donald Trump.

The latest rapper to announce his support for the Republican Party was Lil Wayne, who shared his support for Trump's reelection in a post that was surprising for some of Twitter.

"Just had a great meeting with @realdonaldtrump besides what he’s done so far with criminal reform, the platinum plan is going to give the community real ownership. He listened to what we had to say today and assured he will and can get it done," Wayne wrote in a post where he shared a photo of himself in a cardigan standing next to the president.

Dozens of Republican candidates and conservatives lauded Wayne for announcing himself as a Trump supporter, claiming they were fans of the Grammy-winning rapper's work.

Noted journalist and former politician Bakari Sellers specifically called out controversial Georgia House candidate Marjorie Taylor Greene for her professed love of Wayne albums.

Greene faced backlash in August when videos were unearthed showing her expressing racist views about Black people and immigrants, according to NBC News. And despite her newfound love of Wayne, it quickly became clear that she and many of his brand new Republican fans had not listened very closely to his lyrics.
