Siraj Ibn Wahhaj, who kidnapped his son and fled to a New Mexico compound, may have been training 11 children found at the site to be school shooters.

According to BuzzFeed News, court documents filed by prosecutor Timothy Hasson state a foster parent of one of the children said the child was trained to use an assault rifle to "to kill as many people as possible.” The training was allegedly "in preparation for future school shootings."

"He poses a great danger to the children found on the property as well as a threat to the community as a whole due to the presence of firearms and his intent to use these firearms in a violent and illegal manner," Hasson wrote.

The school shooting accusations were not mentioned during court hearings, and a judge ruled all the adults be held without bond. CNBC reports the Taos County Public Defender’s Office expressed skepticism at the accusations due to a foster parent being the only source.

Wahhaj was arrested Friday, August 3, and charged with custodial interference related to the kidnapping of his four-year-old son, Abdul-Ghani Wahhaj. Authorities are still determining if remains found at the compound are those of Abdul-Ghani. According to CBS News, the boy was severely disabled due to complications from his birth. He could not walk and needed around-the-clock supervision. Wahhaj kidnapped the boy in December after telling his mother he was taking him to the park. Despite a brief standoff and the number of weapons found at the scene, Wahhaj surrendered without a struggle.

Another man, Lucas Morton, was also arrested and charged with harboring a fugitive. Three women were also arrested. All five are facing 11 counts of child abuse related to the malnourished children found at the site.

Taos County Sheriff Jerry Hogrefe said the group is "considered extremist of the Muslim belief” but wouldn’t say more due to the ongoing investigation.

Although neighbors had been complaining about the compound for months, authorities could not act without a probable cause. That changed when they received a note that read, "We are starving and need food and water." Hogrefe says what investigators uncovered was "the saddest living conditions and poverty" he’d ever seen.
