Praise This, the musical competition film hailing from Tim Story’s The Story Company has found its director.

It has been revealed that Tina Gordon has been tapped to direct the film, which will take a look at the world of youth choirs. The Universal Pictures film will be released on September 25, 2020.

Gordon will not only direct the film, but she will revise the script, which originally came from Camilla Blackett, Jana Savage, Brandon Broussard and Hudson Obayuwana.

Will Packer and James Lopez will produce Praise This under Will Packer Productions, while Sharla Sumpter Bridgett will produce alongside Tim Story under The Story Company.

Most notably, Packer has produced successful comedies such as Girls Trip and Little, which was also directed and co-written by Gordon. Recently, super producer Packer also produced a docuseries centered on the Atlanta child murders for Investigation Discovery.

“It is a pleasure to be teaming up with Tina once again,” said Lopez in a statement. “She is a great leader and will bring tremendous energy to this project. Tim, Sharla, Will and I look forward to the collaboration.”
