In 2017, transgender personality Peppermint almost made history when she became first runner-up on "Rupaul's Drag Race." Now, just a few months later, she will become the first transgender woman to ever create a role on Broadway.

Vulture reports she has been cast in the new musical Head Over Heels.

The play, based on the Elizabethan farce Arcadia, will feature music from the Go-Go's and will be directed by Hedwig And The Angry Inch's Michael Mayer. It will also star Andrew Durand, Taylor Iman Jones, Jeremy Kushnier, Bonnie Milligan, Tom Alan Robbins, Alexandra Socha and Rachel York.

As for the play's plot, it's a romantic comedy but only set a few hundred years in the past.

Despite losing to Sasha Velour in June 2017, she hopes that a trans woman will become one of the show's winners in the near future. The Delaware native worked Manhattan nightclubs 20 years ago before finally hitting it big and starring on the hit reality competition show.

“I hope from this moment on, the trajectory of 'Drag Race' has forever changed in terms of how it relates to trans women,” she told Allure in July 2017. “I'm sure that there will be a trans winner on the show. I'm sure that more trans women will be invited to be on the show if their drag can get through. It is about the drag. I made it to the first runner-up. I almost won. I think we've done it.”

Head Over Heels will initially run in San Francisco, California, from April 10 to May 6. Then, it will open at New York City's Hudson Theater on June 23.
