The design for the $20 bill presumed to feature African American hero and slave abolitionist, Harriet Tubman, may not ever see the light of day according to a new report from The New York Times.

Though the preliminary design for the bill was just released this month, it was reportedly finished and ready to be printed in late 2016.

Last month, Treasury secretary Steven Mnuchin announced that the design of the bill will be delayed until Trump leaves office due to “new security measures” as reported by The New York Times.

Many are speculating that Trump is responsible for the interruption. An article published in the New York Times suggests that he may have intervened in the process in order to keep his favorite president, slave-holder and mass murderer of Indigenous peoples, Andrew Jackson, on the $20 bill.

Last week, a group of House Democrats demanded that the Treasury Secretary release more information regarding the security concerns that led to the obstruction of the redesign process.
