In 2002, the action comedy film Undercover Brother was mostly a critical and commercial success. It also marked a career highlight for actor and comedian Eddie Griffin. Sixteen years after its theatrical premiere, it looks like a sequel is in the works.

An IMDB page under the title of Undercover Brother 2 surfaced recently, and according to ProjectCasting.com, Griffin was expected to return for the sequel with an open casting call set to take place in Atlanta. However, Griffin’s rep told ComedyHype the actor is no longer attached to the project.

The original Undercover Brother was a spoof of 1970s blaxploitation films as well as other spy franchises. The film also starred Aunjanue Ellis, Neil Patrick Harris and Dave Chappelle.
