Students at the University of Memphis are bringing Black History Month to life this February by creating a live art installation featuring students dressed as black heroes and icons posing next to placards full of historical information. The exhibit features artists like Maya Angelou, civil rights leaders like Angela Davis and performers like Josephine Baker. The photos were shared on Facebook.

Donyale Luna, the first black woman to model for Vogue.

Martin Luther King, Jr., the civil rights leader.

Josephine Baker, actor/model/dancer/singer/Allied spy/civil rights leader.

Donna Summer, the Queen of Disco.

Madame CJ Walker, inventor, entrepreneur and first black woman millionaire.
