A group of three Obama-appointed federal judges struck down Trump's border wall and allowed Congress to subpoena Trump in bold rulings.

U.S. District Judge Haywood Gilliam Jr., Edgardo Ramos and Amit Mehta challenged President Donald Trump's administration with rulings over the last week.

According to The Associated Press, Gilliam Jr. ruled against the construction of parts of Trump's border wall. The decision will prevent the Trump administration from diverting funds allocated to a national emergency.

“Congress’s ‘absolute’ control over federal expenditures — even when that control may frustrate the desires of the Executive Branch regarding initiatives it views as important — is not a bug in our constitutional system. It is a feature of that system, and an essential one,” Gilliam wrote in his 56-page opinion.

On May 20, U.S. District Judge Amit Mehta ruled Trump must comply with a Congressional subpoena that will ask for financial records since 2011. And Ramos ruled banks that have conducted business with Trump and his family must turn over financial records.

Trump expressed outrage over the rulings pointing out they were both appointed by Obama. The business mogul specifically named Mehta in his grievances.

"As far as the financials are concerned, we think it’s totally the wrong decision by, obviously, an Obama-appointed judge,” he told reporters last week after the ruling. “He was a recent Obama-appointed judge.”

Critics have complained about all three judges donating to former Obama presidential campaigns. According to election records via The Epoch Times, Gilliam donated to his campaigns dating back to 2007. The judge sent $13,500 to Obama for America and Obama Victory Fund 2012. There was also a donation of $4,500 to the Democratic National Committee.

The decision to block the wall allows for the American Civil Liberties Union and the state attorneys general of 19 states to move forward with their lawsuits against the Trump administration.

“This order is a win for our system of checks and balances, the rule of law, and border communities,” Dror Ladin, an attorney for the ACLU told The AP, which represented the Sierra Club and the Southern Border Communities Coalition.

Earlier this year, Trump orchestrated a government shutdown in hopes of receiving 5.7 billion dollars to fund the wall.
