Check out this trailer for a film called Touch, from Brit filmmaker Shola Amoo, whose past work we’ve featured on S&A – an experimental short film he co-directed with Nosa Nedion, titled Reparations For The Soul, which starred Ashley Walters (watch it HERE if you missed it).
As we continue to have conversations about black filmmakers producing “outside-the-box” work, I thought this was also worth sharing.
Shola says it’s an arthouse/sci-fi/fantasy film which follows Jessica and George, who meet in an open field at a specific time and place everyday. George is in love – but unbeknownst to him, Jessica hides a devastating secret. As Jessica’s feelings for George grow, she must make an important decision that will change her life forever.
The synopsis obviously doesn’t give away much – I’m left wondering what the fantasy/sci-fi aspect of the film is, and I’m certainly interested in finding out, based on the teaser below.
The film stars Tanya Fear (we recently announced that she’ll be making her feature film debut in Kick-Ass 2 later this year), Alexis Rodney and Nina Edwards.
Touch is Shola’s graduation film from The National Film and Television School in the UK, and he says that he’s aiming to debut it on the film festival circuit, and hopes its travels well.
In the meantime, watch the teaser below for a tease of what to expect:
