No one should back down when pursuing a good cause.
Eaton High School student Dani Vine organized a vigil for the victims of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting. While there were scores of people supporting her and remembering the 17 people who died in Parkland, Florida, there were also students at the Fort Worth, Texas, high school that didn't support her initiative.
Counter-protesters waved Confederate flags while shouting "white power" and hurling transphobic slurs at the diverse crowd of mourners.
Vine could not stand by and let that continue unchallenged. So she grabbed a counter-protester's flag and stomped on it.

“My main goal was to remain calm no matter what, but after seeing people hail Hitler and scream racial slurs I couldn’t control myself,” she told NowThis. “I turned around and saw a kid with a confederate flag and out of anger I made the choice to take it from him and to say that racism isn’t allowed in this school. I know that wasn’t the right thing to do but I can’t apologize for defending myself and standing my ground. I refuse to.”

Just when the counter-protester decided to get a froggy, other girls came to Vine's defense and got him out of there.
