The Detroit Youth Choir performed an exciting version of Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ “Can’t Hold Us” on America’s Got Talent.

Before the choir started to sing, Detroit Youth Choir Director Anthony White had stated that they all had great grades and are very talented. To which, Judge Simon Cowell responded that the show had never had a choir. “Well, this could be the first,” said White.
The harmonious and high-spirited performance earned the choir a standing ovation from all four judges and even moved host Terry Crews to tears. Judge Gabrielle Union described the performance as brilliant.

Crews is originally from Flint, Michigan, and he said that he saw himself in each of the young men and women on the stage, leading him to slam down on the golden buzzer.
“All it takes is for one person to believe in a young man or woman for them to reach their dreams. And you are that man, sir!” Crews said pointing to the choir director before pressing down on the buzzer.
The choir will be moving onto the live rounds.
