This Texas teacher and student duo are making headlines for a heartwarming decision. Last Friday, during an adoption ceremony in Beaumont, Texas, 16-year-old Anthony Berry officially became a family with his new mother,  Bennie Berry.

"I didn't think the day would ever come because of the fact that I didn't want to be adopted," the teen said, Fox 5 reports. "Then, I met my mom. I started talking to her and we just kind of clicked."

Anthony had been in foster care for seven years and along with being the oldest child to be adopted last week, his story is also unique in another way. Previously deciding that he didn't want to be adopted, all that changed when he met Bennie Berry last November. He asked his teacher to step up and become his new mom, a request Bennie thought was a joke at first.

"At first I thought he was making jokes until he actually explained the situation," Bennie said. "Then, we struck a deal. Finish an assignment and then you can show me the website."

After a beautiful match has been made, Anthony is urging more people to consider adoption. With so many kids in the system, having a positive figure in their lives who is able to step up to the plate can make all the difference.

"Take into consideration that if someone doesn't love you," Anthony said. "There is always someone that will love you."

We wish nothing but love and happiness to the beautiful new family. This is the positivity we love to see in the community.
