Twitter is having a field day with one particular episode of The Simpsons that is drawing eerie comparisons to real-life events.
The images are from an episode of the long-running show titled "Bart to the Future," where Lisa Simpson becomes president and also utters the line "As you know, we've inherited quite a budget crunch from President Trump."
The episode was released in 2000 and features an adult version of Lisa taking over as president as the successor to Donald Trump.
Simpson is also dressed almost exactly like Vice President Kamala Harris during her inauguration.

The show is well known for predicting a number of events throughout its decades on TV, as CNN noted.
In 2007's The Simpsons Movie, actor Tom Hanks appears as a representative of the government and discusses building a new Grand Canyon in Springfield, the town where the Simpsons live.
"Hello. I'm Tom Hanks. The U.S. government has lost its credibility, so it's borrowing some of mine," Hanks said in the movie.
On Wednesday, Hanks appeared during an event celebrating the inauguration of Harris and President Joe Biden.
When Trump was elected president in 2016, a writer on the show was asked about the episode by The Hollywood Reporter.
"It was a warning to America. And that just seemed like the logical last stop before hitting bottom. It was pitched because it was consistent with the vision of America going insane," Dan Greaney said.
There are also episodes of the show that strangely resemble the Capitol Building
attack and other recent world events, according to HuffPost.
