Spider-Man is really back on the PS4. All of those boo-boo movies in between Spider-Man 2 and now lulled me into a deep sleep on the young web slinger. But right when I almost went full coma, Tom Holland killed it in Captain America: Civil War and the momentum has been building ever since.

Fam, did you see that trailer? If you’ve ever played a Spider-Man game on a Sony Playstation console, you know that they can be extremely entertaining (even though there have been a few duds there, too). But as a young blerd in the golden age of Spider-Man films, when those new Spidey games hit the shelf, my friends and I would all take turns running through that story mode. There’s something special about living vicariously through the eyes of the most relatable white guy on earth, nerd-turned-hero Pete Parker.

It looks like those days are finally back. This new Spider-Man game for the PS4 is not only visually amazing, but if that’s actual gameplay in the trailer, it’s gonna be a banger controls wise, also.

Sony dropped this masterpiece at E3 on Monday the 13th. It’s developed by Insomniac Games, the people who brought us Spyro the purple dragon and Ratchet & Clank (two classics in my opinion).

The game is still in development and doesn’t have a release date, but one thing is clear. That 1 minute and 30 seconds of the Marvel Comics Queens representer doing his thing has me more hype for a Spider-Man anything than I have been since the early 2000s. Put some respek on PS4’s name for this genius level move. What you’re about to witness is something that you haven’t been witnessing – it’s what the game’s been missing.
