Last night…well this morning, Donald Trump was elected president. It is tough to think a man running on the "values" he stood on, actually won. I am not upset or moved by his winning more than I am shook to my core at the fact, people actually voted for him.  For me, it is really disturbing that people have these views and use times like this to express them. Like most of us, I have witnessed so much hate (from both sides) posted up and down my various social media news feeds/timelines. How can we be a country unified when we disagree and hate the other side? I grew up in, let's call it, the inner city. My ENTIRE life I have experienced hate because of colors or streets or race and frankly I am jut tired. This election exposed me to my own prejudices and I will not allow these things to live any longer.

It is my belief that in order to establish sustainable relationships, we must be the change we want to see. I am a Christian and love is what my beliefs say I must operate in at all times.  Early this year, I started a company to promote love in marketing by giving a face to social justice issues. It's my part. I'm not MLK…I'm not Malcolm X. I am, however, an individual who has been gifted in some way and I will use these gifts to create and sustain true growth/change.

I know we are all tired and in some cases "over it" but this is our Selma…this is our Birmingham. We must continue to fight hate, not the people! We must continue to be who we were created to be! Be encourage and know you are not alone in this fight! We are all brothers and sisters in the fight against hate of all kinds no matter skin tone, race, economic status, gender, sexual oreniation or whatever other tools of separation hate uses. This isn't the end…for some of us, we are catching our second wind! Love ya and be excellent at being you!
