A St. Louis-based mother won't necessarily be giving her son an "employee of the month" title anytime soon after trying him out as her assistant according to an adorably comical Twitter thread.
"I have three projects due today and my 8-year-old is working as my 'assistant,'" Dasha Kennedy, the founder of the budgeting coaching firm Broke Black Girl (BBG) wrote on Twitter. "Everything he has to do is very minimal. I told him I would pay him $100 for today and he sent me an 'invoice' for $600 because he has done six things so far."

Okay, let's discuss flat rates because…

A day later, Kennedy provided an updated on her son's work schedule.
"He started at 9 a.m. He went on lunch at 10:59 a.m., took a water break at 11:29 a.m., clocked out at 2 p.m., and received an electronic payment for the original amount at 2:15 p.m. He did not show up for work today," she wrote.

The young employee apparently returned to work a day later without offering an explanation.
"After doing a 'no call no show' yesterday, my eight-year-old returned to the office," Dasha wrote. "He did not offer me an explanation; he just picked up where he left off. He is out of dress code. He said his check was short. I am now out buying him lunch. With my money, in the rain."

Fortunately for the young man, it didn't take long for him to find his next employment opportunity.
"After firing my eight-year-old son the other day for doing a 'no call no show,' I was contacted by my sister," his mother said. "She wanted to verify his work history. He is seeking employment with her as a 'landscaper' and she wanted to know how was he as an employee. What should I say?"

Some social media users appear to be taking the boy's side.
I’m calling BBB on you for wrongful termination. (314) 645-3300 You didn’t even give him a warning, a write-up or nothing. Let me see his file. Any previous history of “no call/no show”? ????????♀️????????♀️
Tell Sis the date (singular) and keep it pushing! He’s about to blow up on you! ????

No matter how the story ends, however, social media users are clearly entertained by the developments.
This has made my day, and reminded me of parenting and 8 yr old. (He's 23 now)
Sending internet high-fives, if they are welcome.
