Professional golfer Tiger Woods accepted a deal on Friday, Oct. 27, in a Palm Beach County courthouse by pleading guilty to reckless driving to avoid jail time. According to the Associated Press, the deal will keep him out of jail as long as he stays out of trouble.

“This particular plea agreement has no jail time on it. However, if you violate your probation in any significant way, I could revoke your probation and then I could sentence you to jail for 90 days with a fine of up to $500, is that understood?” Judge Sandra Bosso-Pardo said. Woods, 41, nodded in response to the judge's question but didn't make any statements during the hearing or outside the courthouse.

At 2 a.m. on May 29, Woods was arrested after officers found him about 15 miles from his home passed out in his Mercedes, which was awkwardly parked on the side of the road with damage on the driver's side. Officers on scene searched the area but didn't find that he had hit anything with his car, so it's unclear how he damaged it.

Later on, officials reported that Woods had prescription pills and marijuana in his system at the time of his arrest. The arrest was captured on one of the officer's dashcams and released to the public.

During the hearing, a driving under the influence charge was dropped. As part of the deal, Woods will enter a diversion program and will spend a year on probation. He has also been ordered to pay a $250 fine and court fees. According to AP, the superstar golfer has already met other requirements of the program including completing 50 hours of community service at the Tiger Woods Foundation.
