Trey Songz is facing a $10 million lawsuit after allegedly exposing a woman’s breast at his pool party in Connecticut in 2013. The woman, who is suing anonymously as Jane Doe, said in her complaint that the incident happened at the rapper’s “Foxwoods Liquid Sundays with Trey Songz” event. According to TMZ, the woman’s attorneys said their client is facing long-lasting emotional distress after the artist, whose legal name is Tremaine Neverson, exposed her to the crowd, pulling her breasts out of her bikini top without consent.
The woman, who has provided video of the incident, is suing Trey Songz, along with his production company, record executive Kevin Liles and Atlantic Records. According to the complaint, the defendants knew about Trey’s “sexual proclivities,” but still failed to control him at the event. Video of the incident, which was recorded by another person at the party, shows the woman quickly covering her breasts with her hands after Trey reached for her bikini strap.
“In what appeared to be an attempt to further terrify and humiliate [the woman], followed the assault with a degrading chant, ‘Titty in The Open … Titty in The Open,’” the complaint stated according to RollingStone.
The woman’s attorneys added that she quit her career after being humiliated at the event. Trey’s attorney, Michael Freedman, defended his client in a statement to TMZ.
“This is yet another example of decade-old allegations being repurposed into a federal case to take advantage of California’s constitutionally questionable new look back window,” the attorney told the media outlet. “We look forward to vindicating Trey on the merits in court.”
